What Is Included In A BASIX Report? 

A BASIX report is issued with a certificate assessment. This BASIX certificate is mandatory for obtaining development applications in New South Wales. The BASIX report involves a wide range array of criteria:

In general, the average benchmark of carbon footprints and potable water consumption for each individual is calculated against the values shared by the residential department in New South Wales.

When Is The BASIX Report Required In The Development Process? 

BASIX report comes with a BASIX certificate. A BASIX certificate is a mandatory document to start construction in NSW. This certification fee depends on the type of your development. 
  • Once you’ve obtained a BASIX certificate, you need to submit it along with the development application. You must incorporate any modifications to the construction plan before getting to this stage. Otherwise, you’ll need to redo the certificate. 
  • Once your development application gets approval, you can go ahead with your project. Ensure that your actual project adheres to the specifications you mentioned on the certificate. 
  • In the next step, you need to obtain a construction certificate. Note that before you begin developing your project, you need to apply for the construction certificate. A BASIX certificate is required while submitting the application. 
  • The final step involves receiving a completion receipt. In this process, your developed project site undergoes a final inspection. However, prior to receiving the occupation certificate, you can get a BASIX completion receipt.
